Ricardo Machado (Portugal - 1983)

Ricardo's roots are in a small village in the north of Portugal. He experienced the first dance class when he was 18 years old and immediately went to the classes of Vânia Soares Barbosa (classic, modern, contemporary). Ricardo joined "Projecto Sub-18" (NEC - Núcleo de Experimentação Coreográfica) in which he created the choreography "Ao3" under the orientation of Ana Figueira.

Between 2005 and 2007 he was dancer in the project "Caixa para Guardar o Vazio" of the plastic artist Fernanda Fragateiro and the choreographer Aldara Bizarro (Lisbon).

In 2006 he become movement assistant in the theatre performance "Os Negros" (Jean Genet), directed by Rogério de Carvalho - Teatro Nacional S.João (Oporto). Ricardo also performed in "Ícones" of Victor Hugo Pontes, 1st Place in the 2nd International Choreography Competition Ludwigshafen 07 - No Ballet (Germany).

He joined the Balleteatro - Companhia (Oporto) between 2006 until 2007. In this company, Ricardo danced three performances of the choreographer Né Barros ("Vaga 1", "Solistas 1" and "Movimentantes").

In 2007 he met Moncho Rodriguez and continued to work with this theatre director until 2008 as an actor in the performances "Castelo das Paixões", "Coração de Ouro", "Presépio Mambembe" and "O Donzel do Cavaleiro D.Quixote". In the same year, Ricardo joined the Companhia Movimento Incriativo to dance in the performance "O espelho onde me vi crescer partiu" by the choreographer Carlos Silva. In 2008, Ricardo acted in the short film "Perseguir o Perseguido" by the director Bruno Laborinho and joined the Companhia Rui Lopes Graça (Lisbon) to dance in the performance "Bolinha de sabão".

He has worked several times with Joana Antunes since 2006 as a performer, co-creator and artistic direction assistant in the performances "Timemachine" (2006), "Tentativa X.S. e as luvas" (2008), "Fio Condutor" (2008), "Human Box" (2009). Ricardo performed in the project "La ville qui respire" by Kurt Demey (Marseillles, 2009). He also performed and co-created with Marielle Morales of "Zaar" (Cie mala hierba) for the Festival Balsa-Marni (Brussels, 2009).

In fall 2008, Ricardo went to Brussels and met Chris De Feyter in a professional workshop. Immediately they started to work together to create Dogwolf in the summer of 2009.
